Lavanda & Ginseng
Portugal TextilIN THE SAMPLES WE PRESENT WE HAVE TWO ENCAPSULATED PERFUMED SUBSTANCES, ONE FROM LAVANDER AND THE OTHER FROM GINSENG. OUR PURPOSE IS THAT PEOPLE FEEL THE SMELL AND PERCEIVE THE POTENTIAL OF THESE KNITS, WHICH MAY GO UP TO SUBSTANCES WITH MEDICAL CHARACTERISTICS.
Carolina Pinto, sales manager and the second generation of Trimalhas, a company founded in 2003 by brothers Antonino, Joaquim and Tadeu Pinto (Carolina’s father).
The novelty is aimed for the sportswear and loungewear market. “It is a first layer knit, designed to be in contact with the skin, its effect is gradual and continuous, and it resists to more than 20 washes”, says the company representative. Presented at the last Première Vision Paris, these knits were one of the main highlights of the Trimalhas booth. “The sports sector is growing, always looking for innovation, as the customers demand steps more and more, on technical products”, adds Carolina Pinto.
Microcapsules fabrics are one example of the company’s commitment to reach more mature and value-added markets. At the Paris fair, Trimalhas divided it’s catalog between a premium collection – made up of microcapsules, but also items made of cashmere, merino wool, mircomodal and silk – and a collection of sustainable items, such as recycled polyester, Ecovero, Lyocell and organic cotton.
“We are seeking for new clients and focusing on brands that are increasingly looking for sustainable fibers with a story to tell”, explains Carolina Pinto, about the company’s strategy.
In 2019, Trimalhas had a turnover of around 16 million, of which 45% of sales are made to foreign markets. Spain, France, Italy and Germany are some of the main destination countries for Trimalhas articles.
